Hello lovelies!

And so we appear to be drawing the curtains on Summer. Sadly, the weather seems to have done this approximately a month ago, but I've been clawing at the last dregs of the Summer like nobody's business. I love it so.

This Summer has probably been my most enjoyable to date. I went to Benicassim festival, after being in Valencia when Spain won the world cup - very enjoyable. Sadly a taxi and my mobile phone made good friends and drove off into the sunset together recently so I can't share any phone pictures with you.

I can, however, share this one of me and a friend enjoying the Benicassim vibes. Unfortunately the person I went out there with had to fly home on day two - leaving me on my own. Being alone and loneliness, however, do not go hand in hand, and I was adopted into a group of the most lovely, caring and funny people possible, a big group from Brighton. I feel very lucky and it made my whole experience extraordinarily special.

Leigh, a girl I had the fine fortune to meet, and myself.

I then went to Barcelona for a few days. It took me about two days of being lonely and feeling sad that I was no longer around such wonderful people - but predominantly sleeping, to get over Beni. I did, though, and met some lovely boys from Brighton (again!) who had come out to Barcelona to skate and enjoy themselves. They were lovely and one even forced ten euros into my hand as I was too poor to eat that day!

I've been lucky enough to do an abundance of other things - including turning twenty-one last Monday! Which involved far too high a level of inebriation and a personal vow to be more healthy. And I'm going to Paris on Friday, for the first time ever! I'm very excited.

All in all, Summer has been and continues to be a delight, after a rocky start to the year! Let's hope this streak of happy times continues with few bumps along the way.

Just a little one, to say that I am entirely obsessed by Noritaka Tatehana's feathered wedge 'hummingbird' shoe. No idea how one would walk in it - I feel it would necessitate hand holding on either side. Surely worth it?

I tweeted about it the other day, and Noritaka tweeted back at me! I think he makes it his business to tweet back when his name is mentioned. But still. Smiley face.

My blog posts are almost in their teens! Hope they don't start rebelling, overusing eyeliner and bunking off school. We're looking at you, Taylor Momsen.

Yesterday, twenty minutes from Kings Cross, I decided a bit of makeup application wouldn't go amiss. Had been as white as a sheet all day from being sleepy/having a pale face, and thought it a reasonable thing to do as I had to briefly pop into work, which has an image focus.

Imagine my surprise at being tapped on the shoulder by a slightly rotund male, I'd say circa 35, with a cap with 'Barcelona' emblazoned all over it like some sort of lurid verbal festoon, and those mirrored sunglasses...not an ultra-cool aviator style pair, but those plastic ones your brother had when you were little - slightly orange tint on the mirror. So, Mr. Mirror taps me on the shoulder and, I kid you not, this is what went down;

Man; "excuse me, did you do chemistry in school?"
Me; "yes..."
Man; "you're ruining nature's gift"
Me; "sorry...what?"
Man; "you're ruining nature's gift...makeup is fucking disgusting"
Me; "well..I like it. So I'm going to keep putting it on"
Man; "you'll wake up in 20 years covered in spots"
Me; "that's fine. I live for now, and right now I want to put this on my face"

AND THIS IS ALL BIZARRE...BUT WAIT

Man; "was that a Californian twang?"
Me; "what?"
Man; "if you want to live in a plastic world, maybe you should move to California"

And I got a bit petulant and said (in my best adolescent voice, might I add)

"MAYBE I WILL".

And thus ended the dialogue. Very strange. Cue sympathetic looks from women around me, and sideways glances at the outspoken male.

It DID get me thinking about how many products I use. Not that I, in any way, have any intention of cutting down my use of products. I love them, creams that smell nice and tanning products that help me look less albino. I simply have no complaints.
So, reader, have a grainy phone picture of my bathroom shelf, and join me in lamenting the fact that there's an empty shelf above. Might nip out to Boots, actually.

Hello again!

Writing through a Swedish router (again) as I yo-yo back down the country to our capital, once more. Happy to have spent two lovely weekends in Newcastle, weather was good and abundance of friends even better. Trying not to step on anybody's toes on the train - quite literally. Long legs and short leg room. The poor woman opposite me.

Bit more serious than normal - sickened by the news about Gaza. Not as sickened as my Dad, who cannot seem to stomach listening to Israeli 'apologists' on the radio.

Trying to muster up the motivation to finish the work I've started, so that I can properly enjoy my Summer. Plans include Festival Internacional de Benicássim, possibly a short trip abroad somewhere else and my 21st Birthday, the Monday before Notting Hill carnival! Excited as I've never been. A little trip to Paris might be on the cards, too. Funds permitting.

Having been at home I am now, of course, laden with food. My Dad gets notoriously stressed out about missing trains (which I think I have only done once in my life) and even though we were cutting it fine, his insistence to ply me with a deli made sandwich overcame his jumpy desire for me to arrive 50 minutes before my train, and he made sure I was being fed. Parma ham and sundried tomatoes, made by the slowest sandwich maker North of the Tyne (which, as you can imagine, added to my Father's already twitch-inducing worry). Made the train, and zooming into Darlington as we speak.

That's all for now. My beautiful little Lomo Diana camera is coming on Thursday and after that I imagine I'll be much more productive with my visual aids. Until then, enjoy Ghost Town by The Specials*, as I shall do whilst tanned and tipsy at Benicássim.

*I'd have linked, but the train doesn't want me on youtube. Bad sport.

Hello, look at me sauntering back into blogging as if I never left. Well I didn't, faithful readers. I simply took a short break. You were all always there in my heart.

Been spending most of my time in the company of many cocktails and many more friends, which has been lovely. If a little to the detriment of my degree. Shall get back on that wagon, especially as when broaching the subject of potentially not completing it resulted in raised voices and tears.. Ah to be the only (slight) achiever.

Because I am watching television, this post will largely be television based. The Lady Gaga episode of Glee. Which is, naturally, almost my ideal programme. Obviously 'Rachel Berry' is very annoying in every single way, but also super brilliant. AND THE BOYS JUST CAME OUT DRESSED AS KISS! I am too happy.

Probably shouldn't give a running commentary. I'll sign off.

Hello, vehicle for procrastination!

The weather has been glorious of late, so I decided that it's summer and as such have exclusively been wearing shorts/skirts/short skirts. This has been to my detriment - I am permanently cold. Apparently the sun shining and no clouds in my immediate line of vision does not automatically shift us geographically south of this hemisphere. What a damn shame.

Aside from the ever rising goosebumps on my arms and legs, the weather has served to excite me WILDLY for summer. So far I am definitely going camping in Bordeaux at some point in June, and definitely going to Benicassim in July. All very exciting, largely for suntans and happy faces.

Also interesting me at the moment;

-I am Love, Tilda Swinton's new movie. According to a friend "everyone hates Tilda Swinton", but I don't know a lot about her so I can't slap something like 'hate' onto her forehead. And the poster reminds me of a Wes Anderson still, so I think I'll see it anyway.

-The idea of the Pope getting arrested.

-Election 2010!

Mundane entry, but an entry nonetheless.

Hello, again.

And so it happens that the new Sex and the City trailer has been released. I am as excited as the next female stereotype, having forked out to see the first one at the cinema FOUR times. I was in Cairns at the time, trying (unsuccessfully) to find a job. Cairns has very little charm, aside from a cinema, and (at the time) a closed 'lagoon'.. the maths here is simple.

The most exciting aspect of this trailer is Samantha's red outfit with silver shoulder pads, complete with spiked studs. I'm not over spiked studs, yet. I am still fairly angry with myself for not grabbing Louise Goldain for TopShop's spiked stiletto... and spikes will invariably be over soon. Like Breton stripes should be.

Went to see Kick Ass at the cinema on Monday. It was darker and far more gory than I expected. All done in a, naturally, comic book fashion. Sadly I've never really been a comic book fan, much to the adolescent part of my father's dismay. It was, however, an extremely accessible film (not an intellectual roller-coaster, if that's what you're after) so this didn't really matter. Also I find it sad that Aaron Johnson is continually going to be defined by being the father of Sam Taylor Wood's unborn child. Until it's born, when he'll be defined as simply the father of her child. Obviously.

No pictures because I've lost my camera battery, and haven't really left the house much lately. Can we, though, take a moment to celebrate Hugh Hefner's birthday. Which is today.

bisous

Currently on the train back to London. Sad to have left family at what is obviously a bad time but at the same time quite glad to get away. Shame the rest of them are trapped up there.

Lately been lusting over Summer outfits. Summer is my favourite season for clothes, I think. Though this has changed a lot over the last few years with more structured clothing coming out around A/W collections. I just love colour. Heaps and heaps of colour. More looking towards Roberto Cavalli (I totally buy into his slight Eurotrash feel)and Matthew Williamson for this at the moment, with nudes and pastels being thrown into the mix for Spring. Though Miu Miu's crystal blouse and elasticated waistband swallow print outfit, worn in a beautiful POP magazine editorial recently, almost make my heart cry I want them so badly. Had my heart set on some Miu Miu sunglasses too, but have recently completely fallen in love with these Balenciaga ones. Looks like I'm forking out a bit more, but so worth it. This is big for me, as I rarely wear sunglasses. I'm coming on leaps and bounds.

This train wireless, aside from being unpredictable and going at a snails pace, also seems to be routed through Sweden, as all my links - particularly on google, are in Swedish. Bit bizarre.

Hello!

This is probably going to be a text based entry, as I'm in my grandma's house. On my dead Grandpa's computer. It's strange, because he's still signed into Skype. I hope he's not giving anyone a shock.

Easter back at home. My auntie has descended on the family, taking my bed in her stride, and as such I've been relocated to my grandma's empty home, whilst she is getting some treatment elsewhere. It's not the wild crazy cool party I was hoping for this Easter, but that is absolutely fine.

Actually I'll be a bit narcissistic, here is a photo of me my grandpa took on Christmas. I'd bought a pink wig the day before and obviously wore it all day, despite the fact that the £6.99 pink fake hair fibres irritated my nose the whole time.

There you have it. Nothing amusing to report, bar the loss of my bankcard on a drunken Wednesday night and attempting to go to the cinema last night but giving up after not immediately finding a parking space.

Unexpected at 2am in the library, was a fellow walking in in his sailor hat. Unexpected and unnecessary. Brilliant, though. What you sadly cannot see, is that since sitting down he has opened 'Ice Ice Baby' on youtube and that is all he's been doing. Perfect.

In other news, I have writer's block, and wish this was a legitimate reason for the incompleteness of my work.

Good Morning, three hours of sleep! No no, that's all I wanted. No more, no less.

To share with you all (all three of my readers faithful), I have finished and submitted one essay. But don't worry! I still have another hefty one to do, so my late night entries won't be a thing of the past just yet.

Just thought I'd share with you all this morning a wonderful moment where science meets gaming nerd/popular culture.

Hello there, 'blogosphere'.

I come to you again in the dead of night, in the hope that the words I write here will magically become relevant to what I'm saying in my work, and I can simply copy and paste, click send and go home. No such luck, so far.

Here is a picture of a trifle I made. I don't have a profound poem to accompany it. Suffice to say, I feel strongly that the trifle represents our skin, the many layers being dug at by the spoon of life. When the spoon first takes away a scoop, the trifle begins to sag, and fall, and eventually the trifle is no more. What a powerful metaphor for the life we lead.

It also helps that the trifle tastes delicious.

Today I called in sick to work, as I was so tired I looked like an extra from a Hammer horror/similar. Not unlike this picture, but with longer hair.

I return to Newcastle on Wednesday, for Easter family fun. Although apparently it's snowing, which has upset me an inordinate amount.

I'd go as far to say that's all my news. I shall endeavour to be more interesting next time.

I am too late to blog about fashion week, which I didn't even bother to go and attend (was in Newcastle, also. Minor obstacle.) so I won't blog about that, aside from I very much enjoyed Valentino but wish they had more heels on, and Alexander McQueen remains one of the most potent and sorely missed designers.

This post is a culmination of about 6 hours and counting in the library. I gave myself until sunrise to get my word count up to 2000, but so far im on 1300 and the world is turning at a rapid pace. I'd be on course if it wasn't for daylight savings.

Appeasing my self inflicted library pain with Young Jeezy ft. Jay Z. Of the 12, 185 views it has had to date, I'd comfortably say I'm responsible for about 9,184 of them. Approximately.

Actually just checked BBC News and the Moscow metro has been bombed, which puts into perspective my essay. I've been on the Moscow metro, we had a tour of it. I took this photo whilst on it, because if you look closely there you'll see Stalin casually riding the rails in the other carriage.

This has been a superb essay distraction and I can only imagine I will revisit it frequently in the next 62 hours as I have extensive essays to do and little to no motivation to do them.
