#16

Buongiorno principessa!

Well, the electricity has gone in my house. Circuit breaker keeps tripping, Scottish Power's advice was to switch off every possible thing in the house then try it, then switch things on one by one and see what breaks the circuit. Currently in Starbucks trying to keep my blackberry and laptop full and happy, like a mother ensuring her children eat before she does. Ah, digital age.

Taking this opportunity not to do my work, or even research for my work, but to look at beautiful pictures of lovely places I'd like to visit. In addition to this, I've been reading this month's Vogue, which has highlighted to me that no, I simply don't have enough 'proper' luggage and yes, I do need a new laptop and a Smythson leather laptop case. Obviously.

Beautiful luggage, surely, necessitates beautiful destinations...so here are some of my coveted holiday/travel destinations that I'd like to explore in the next few years; enjoy.

I know that 'Greek island hopping' brings with it an image of tousle-haired 19-23 year old people with a plethora of string and woolen bracelets denoting their 'at one'-ness with the earth (before they trot back to England and finish their degrees) but who can blame them? It just looks lovely. I had the privilege of visiting Zakynthos (Zante) on a 'girls holiday' (never again) 4 years ago, but I'd wager that's not the same.

Oia, Santorini, via Marcel Germain. If you're looking to basically melt into a little pool on the floor at beautiful pictures of Greece then this Flickr is the one to look at. Since I was little I've always been a fan of yellow and blue contrast and the way he saturates his pictures is so perfect.

Since reading Captain Corelli's Mandolin (and crying every time I re-read it), Cephalonia has been a romantic place of interest for me. And you can definitely see why, this is St Theodori lighthouse in Argostoli (I feel like I know it, I've read it so much!) via Bonaero

This will cover me for now as it's quite a long post. But I promise, I'm just scratching the surface here...more to come!

Beijos!

P.S.... Lights on in my flat, yess!
