#17

Good eve sweet readers,

Let's just take a one-post sabbatical from my dream destinations - which, let's face it, are only going to go on and on as I discover new and exciting global treats.

I just want to take a moment to talk about one person, who at approximately 21,000 followers (at the time of writing) is fast becoming Twitter infamy. I may be jumping on this bandwagon (hatewagon?) a little late but I've been battling with the desire to refuse to acknowledge this man's inane chatter. I'm talking, of course, about 'Kenneth Tong', the one time reality star (who, since appearing on Big Brother, a widely popular television show with several million viewers, denies being on the show, which I take as a fairly conclusive indication of his mental stability) who is promoting his new 'size zero pill' which he claims 'typically reduces girls from a size 12 to a size 6 in three weeks'. Not only is he promising dramatic weight loss, with the aid of a pill, he's promoting 'managed anorexia', a term he claims is of his own device.

If alarm bells aren't already screaming between your temples, don't fear. There's plenty more! Tong peppers his tweets with boasts of having slept with many 'size zero models'. He responds to critics with antagonistic arrogance, and directs tweets at celebrities to seek endorsement for his pill. Tong also tweets encouraging followers to hate their bodies -
The words lunch, breakfast, and dinner should now mean nothing to you, you have eaten enough for a lifetime. Stop. You are disgusting.

Wake up. Your disgusting. Your so fat you don't deserve sleep. Go look in the mirror & hate yourself. I don't want you eating today.

Taken verbatim from Tong's twitter posts. If his message doesn't offend you, surely his grammar does?!

Anyway! I'm not saying he should be 'stopped' or 'shut down'. I just believe the man is an ignorant fool who is promoting an unhealthy image of 'perfection'. Bodies are beautiful, and interesting, and manifesting self-hatred in the minds of young girls is, in my opinion, very wrong!

Back to travel lusts next time,

bisous
